She does not have a line of beauty creams to sell -- any will work well, along with her instructions If you want more information on skin treatments, using your hands to heal your face, "skin fasting," and treatments for specific types of acne, her take on the skin is refreshing and positive, and she provides a wide variety of specific solutions that are really easy and effective. I love her writing style and her outlook, and whether you have an issue with breakouts, sagging, oily skin, dry skin, you name it, she has a solution for it.
Overall, the book is very helpful, gives great descriptions, has great pictures and diagrams and is well-written.
I have personally felt that the techniques work very well. The only issue I have with it is that many of the techniques are time-consuming. But like I said, the facial massage alone worked enormously well for me and takes only a few minutes per day. I know the massages so well I barely have to think about them I very highly recommend this book.
It's one of THE best books I've read on skincare. It's probably not a must-have as you can google all the important information, but for the price of this little paperback and the hour you spend reading it, you do get some wisdom and inspiration that will make you feel a little more beautiful and confident in what you do.
That must be worth something. Jul 31, Ellina rated it really liked it. First this is a really easy to read book and the steps on the book are easy to follow as well.

Audrey Hepburn proved that even the wrinkles and sagging that come with age can be attractive just as they are, if they are part of the self-confidence and character of a woman who has lived life well.
The wrinkles on such women appear not as signs of aging, but as marks of honor Apr 02, Catherine rated it liked it.
I became inspired to read this book after travelling through Japan, where I was struck by the fact that I rarely saw a spot or wrinkle on the faces of the people I cam across. This book had been very highly rated, so I went ahead and got it. However, I was very disappointed. Firstly, the book's title seems very misleading; the book doesn't actually talk about Japanese skincare, in fact, Saeki often explains how she has seen Japanese women 'getting it wrong', furthermore, the products she suggest I became inspired to read this book after travelling through Japan, where I was struck by the fact that I rarely saw a spot or wrinkle on the faces of the people I cam across.
Firstly, the book's title seems very misleading; the book doesn't actually talk about Japanese skincare, in fact, Saeki often explains how she has seen Japanese women 'getting it wrong', furthermore, the products she suggests using are largely from Western brands like Clinique and Estee Lauder.
Secondly, the book promotes skin care concepts which I personally disagree with: I admit, maybe I wasn't giving the book the best chance, and I may end up trying some of these strange methods and loving them. But until then, all I can take from this book is the mentality of caring for one's skin. Mar 18, Nancy Welker rated it it was amazing Shelves: This book is a straightforward guide to using simple methods for at-home skin care.
The most important of all of Chizu's instructions is the facial pack which I myself have modified. While the skin is still damp, apply a medium to thick layer of any moisturizer or cold cream you like. Take moderately damp towels and lay them on top of your skin.
Wait five minutes. Remove towels and rinse.
Use toner and serum and apply your usual moisturiz This book is a straightforward guide to using simple methods for at-home skin care. Use toner and serum and apply your usual moisturizer and makeup etc. Do this daily and you will see fresher skin and less dry lines especially around the eye area.
Overall I think that anyone can benefit from reading this book. Sep 15, Ali rated it it was amazing.

Some very different concepts in this deceptively simple book, particularly for followers of product heavy western skincare regimes. A truly inspirational skin guru!
Great step by step pictures throughout. Very occasionally a little bit more description text might have been better - but go on YouTube and she's there demonstrating the techniques too. May 21, Erica rated it liked it Shelves: Doing everything this book suggests would take about 2 hours every day and at least dollars every month. It did have interesting information on different skin types and ways to reduce pore visibility.

She has a good principle taking care of skin. Do not over-wash skin; over eating can over nourish skin; lymph massage and a lotion mask to deep penetrating the moisturizing agent to the skin.. I love it. Feb 04, Paulina rated it liked it.
