The characters, both primary and secondary, were flashed out well with distinct characterization. I enjoyed the build up between Kendrick and Addie.
They had good chemistry. It translated well when they finally got together. The cubs were such a cute addition. They really brought the family together. It allowed us insight into previous series couples and expanded upon a greater central plot in addition to the one directly affecting the MCs.
I did find at least one part a bit hypocritical. You can't condone an action done by the hero his younger days and then have the hero call out and try to shame someone else as they attempt to do it to him.
The narrator did a good job: No OW, but there is drama associated with someone the H had been with occasionally before. She also tries to kiss our H. He stops her. No rape or abuse. Out in print and e- audio is coming Waitress Addison Price is certain her hum-drum life will never change, until a gorgeous man with black and white hair comes into her diner, with three little boys in tow. Addison doesn't know it yet, but she's in for the adventure of a lifetime.
A full-length novel. View all 10 comments. Sep 18, Sophia Triad rated it really liked it Shelves: The highlight of this book is that the free-collarless shifters will eventually manage to establish their community. In this book Kendrick becomes stronger and more powerful against an old dangerous enemy who will appear suddenly.
Kendrick also finds a new mate, sweet lonely waitress Addison. Addison becomes a mother figure for his children and she will try to establish her position as the mate of the leader.
Their story is fascinating as most of the love stories in this series. View all 3 comments. Jan 27, Marta Cox rated it it was amazing Shelves: Do you enjoy shifter tales but are fed up with the norm?
Then why not start this series that has a truly novel way of looking at them. Shifters that originally were I suppose you could say 'pets' of the Fae but now living in the human world and yet still not totally free. Forced to wear collars made by Fae magic that control their more fearsome urges and living or should that be existing in shifter towns. Feared and misunderstood but their desire for freedom could come at a huge cost.
In a sleepy Do you enjoy shifter tales but are fed up with the norm? In a sleepy diner in Texas, Addison works hard but doesn't seem to have much fun in her life. That's ok though as she loves her sister and her children whom she lives with and if her smile brightens a customers day then life is good.
Now there's one customer who Addison would really love to get to know more about but the quiet guy just gives nothing away. Add in the fact that he has three adorable little boys and Addison can't really see anything happening between them.
That all changes when the diner is attacked and the gorgeous hunk Kendrick turns out to be both saviour and would you believe white tiger? Life may have been a little dull but that's all about to change in a big way! First off I have to say I've enjoyed this series but some of the stories appeal to this reader more and happily this book ticks all my boxes. Heroine with gumption who has no difficulty making her own decisions. Protective hero , who melted my heart with his love for 'his' boys whether by blood or not.
This book isn't set in a shifter town and it feels better for it. Yes there's tension and danger but it's not from the humans it's shifter against shifter which adds a whole new dimension. Clearly I cannot say too much but I was quite surprised to see how much influence retired alpha Dylan had in this story. What elevates this book though is the realistic feelings shared between this shifter family and that they included Addison so easily well when Kendrick got his head out of his you know what!
This is a series that I enjoy but I do think this particular book works as a standalone. This I'd recommended to those who enjoy paranormal romance Jul 14, Anna's Herding Cats rated it really liked it Shelves: White Tiger was fantastic.
Action packed, swoony romance and cubs! I love me some little cubs! Okay so the quick of it is that Kendrick is on the run with his three cubs and the bad guys have caught up with them. Unfortunately for their waitress And oh life is about to change in a crazy dangerous and exciting way as they fight to protect the cubs and find a safe haven for the shifers Kendrick calls his own.
Kendrick and Addison were a fantastic couple. He's protective, fierce, and maybe a little growly. Totally alpha and sexy. And Addison She dives in, does what she needs to do, is strong and caring and a little sassy. I loved them together. Maybe not your likeliest of couples but perfect in their differences and how they come together.
Loved em. The cubs are always a highlight for me. I loved that in this one. Kendrick has three sons. Two bio that are little white tigers and one wolf he adopted. And omg talk about making all your girly bits sigh! I loved Kendrick with his little boys.
How protective he was and fierce in protecting them. Something so damn sexy about a badass alpha male who loves his little ones. The cubs were freaking darling too. I'm seriously bummed that human kids can't turn into little white tigers.
I would freaking love that! I just wanted to squeeze them so tight. The suspense was intense and hit right from the start.
The villain was truly awful and it kept me n the edge of my seat from page one. It brought Addi and Kendrick close together very quickly as they fought for survival. Pretty much everything about White Tiger was simply wonderful. Ashley knows how to hold a reader in her spell and, once again, did a damn fine job creating a nail biting action packed adventure you just cannot miss. Want it.
Need it. Gotta have it. Willing to do naughty things for it. Sep 05, CC rated it really liked it Shelves: There is something about this series that holds me back from totally loving it.
I think it is because the world is so dark and the struggle is ongoing. That being said, I really enjoyed White Tiger for the most part.
Kendrick is an awesome hero and his three boys are the cutest things ever! I also really liked Addy. She was a terrific heroine and perfect for Kendrick and his boys. If she had an ounce of drama or TSTL in her it would have killed the story.
Especiall There is something about this series that holds me back from totally loving it. Especially ones where they were mates! I really only want one mate for life. I want the heroine to be special. I felt she was special in the moment, but if his first mate had lived, they would have never gotten together. He said he would love her forever. I also hate the long suffering OW who has been in love with the hero forever and causes drama troupe.
I did not feel Kendrick explained enough to Addy not that she demanded it.
Just a pet peeve. BUT - highlight of the story was all the Tiger time we got my most favorite of her heroes!!!! View all 4 comments. Apr 18, Hollie rated it it was ok Shelves: I've skipped around in this series and have enjoyed it for the most part but this book was disappointing for me.
Here's my breakdown: The pros: Review written February 2, 3. I was listening to the Half the joy. With Three cubs and on the run they meet the very nice but lonely waitress Addison Price in a Texas diner in the middle of nowhere.
We always get new couples and new lovestories but as always when reading a series about a bigger bunch of new and already known characters is it most fun and maybe best to follow them here in two different shifter town's from book to book in order. My reviews and raitings: Well and nicely done shifter entertainment as always in the series but maybe not one of the parts I will remember best. I had a little hard to really truly care about these two turtle pigeons to be honest.
However, the adventure and all around dilemma in the shifter group itself was truly okay and interesting. Maybe White Tiger became a bit of more politics and problems than love? The part or characters I will remember most from this book? Of course these three shifter cubs. So fun and lovely to meet. View 2 comments. Mar 27, Tori rated it really liked it Shelves: Originally posted at SmexyBooks- http: Favorite Quote: When their den in infiltrated and his clan is forced to run, Kendrick struggles to find a new place for them to live free of the shifter towns and the dreaded collars forced on them by the humans.
When he is forced to defend his life from a rogue shifter in front of her, Kendrick knows he must let her go for good. Addison Price, a waitress at a local dinner, looks forward to the nights Kendrick comes in with his sons. Her little crush on Kendrick turns deeper when he saves her and the boys from a gun wielding killer.
When they are to part ways, Addison makes the decision to go with Kendrick and the boys, offering babysitting services in exchange for his protection. We first met Kendrick in the novella Bear Attraction. Bear shifter Rebecca bear shifter and Walker human liaison between humans and shifters were forced to work together when Rebecca is caught on restricted land in shifter form.
In their investigation into finding a suspected kidnapped human, they find and force Kendrick to destroy his den and scatter his people into the wind for safety. A strong paranormal romance that delivers well-developed characters, suspense-filled plots lines, sensual romances, and witty dialogues.
Well crafted, the balance created between the sexy romance and the heart pounding action is always spot on. Evolving world building allows for easy comprehension even though each book and the series as a whole is multi-layered. Filled with multiple characters and plotlines that further expand the arc and take us in new directions; you will find yourself devouring each page as each book garners us bigger clues and dangerous situations, leading us towards the series finale.
Kendrick is an older more stable version of Tiger. Strong, intelligent, stalwart, and loyal to the core, both alpha males will fight to the death for those they love and care for yet chose not to broadcast their dominance over others. They both just want to live in peace and avoid the politics that often is inflicted on their kind.
Human, smart, gorgeous, full of life, practical, and also loyal to the core. She has no heavy baggage or deadly secrets. What you see is what you get. Like Carly, Addison always fights for the underdog and will do whatever it takes to keep those she loves and cares for safe. Kendrick had to get to know one Addison; learn to trust her before embarking down that road.
She questions his actions and offers opinions and objections when needed. As always, there are no closed bedroom scenes. I want you on the ground, against the wall, you riding me, me on you, locked together, inseparable. I want you groaning my name while I shout your, and I want you begging me to never stop. The action and intrigue further deepens as familiar faces from past installments enter the scene while some new faces are introduced that add depth, humor, and further expansion the world.
Zander Moncrieff has to be my favorite new character, besides our protagonists. A healer whose reluctant heroics and dry humor hide the darkness of his gift.
Zander was a polar bear shifter, a creature as rare as the white tiger. Still more rare, he was a healer, the gift of the Goddess running strong in him. He was also batshite crazy. There are also some fabulous subplots that will leave you ready for more of this world as Ashley gives us clues to future storylines and updates on concern certain couples. The ending is an intense, emotional roller coaster ride of deception, betrayal, and redemption as Ashley wraps up the main conflict in a satisfactory manner.
I recommend this series to all readers who love their heroes and heroines to be kick ass, sexy, funny, and always willing to cross the line for those they love. View 1 comment. Jan 28, Faye rated it really liked it Shelves: January Rating: I love Ashley's writing and I always like the way she creates couples with real issues within the paranormal romance genre.
Kendrick is a great example of this as he comes with a ready made family in his three young sons as well as the emotional baggage of being a widower. I would've liked a little more Read: I would've liked a little more exploration of this subject as Ashley never really touches on it; Addie seemingly picks up where Kendrick's previous mate left off with no discussion between the two characters.
However the plot was enjoyable and there were plenty of characters from previous novels on the page so we could catch up on their lives and relationships.
I won't be leaving it so long between reading these books again! Dec 16, Valerie rated it it was amazing Shelves: I've been in such a shifter mood; so when I had the chance to read this one, I was totally onboard!
This is a book 8 in a series I haven't read but it easily can stand alone.
It was super easy to figure out the world and enjoy Kendrick and Addison's story. I love that Kendrick is a protective daddy. He's got two tiger cubs and an adopted wolf cub. That alone tells me so much about who he is. And he puts those cubs above everything else. Quiet and secretive, Kendrick is a good judge of I've been in such a shifter mood; so when I had the chance to read this one, I was totally onboard!
Quiet and secretive, Kendrick is a good judge of character. He quickly figures out that he can trust Addison. I loved how he decided that. Alpha to a hodgepodge of unbound shifters, Kendrick is a tiger and also the guardian. He has an immediate reaction to meeting Addison but he must keep his distance. Too bad she makes that impossible. She's drawn to him too and doesn't want to let him go. Addison is a strong female that has had some bad breaks. Living with her sister and waiting tables at the diner, she loves the visits from the quiet man and his three boys for pie.
When things become strange, she decides immediately that she's on the side of this man who protects his "cubs". Yes, he did say cubs. The first kiss? All on Addison. She shocked Kendrick but his response was all male. All the heat in this one is permeative and intense. The whole book has a more rough feel to it. I think that's because the unbound are shifters hiding from the government requirement that all shifters be registered and collared.
That type of survival effects the mood of the story a lot. Loved this one a lot. Shifters, romance, great world, great story, makes this one a great read. Sep 08, Carolyn F. The love story was pretty good. The plot was okay but was really easy to figure out.
I liked the ending with Tiger and his baby, that was super sweet and funny. This book was better than average for a paranormal romance. Aug 30, SheLove2Read rated it liked it Shelves: I really wanted to love this book. I'd been looking forward to Kendrick's story. Broody and dark and menacing. The first half of the book was rather good, but for me, it started to unravel at that point. I didn't feel any real connection between Kendrick and Addie. No passion.
Addie didn't do it for me either. She basically went along with whatever Kendrick wanted to do and never put up much of a struggle. I hope this series can get back to the excitement of the first books. Feb 22, Danielle rated it liked it Shelves: I'm not usually one to start a series in the middle without having read the previous books first but after reading the blurb of White Tiger I just had to give it a go.
I mean, a sexy shifter on the run with his cubs that's willing to help a damsel in distress? What's not to love?! That being said, White Tiger ended up being an okay read for me in the end. Kendrick and his cubs have been showing up in the diner that Addie works in every night at the same time since they arrived in town but when th I'm not usually one to start a series in the middle without having read the previous books first but after reading the blurb of White Tiger I just had to give it a go.
Kendrick and his cubs have been showing up in the diner that Addie works in every night at the same time since they arrived in town but when they show up later than normal looking wary Addie knows something happened What she doesn't know is that trouble's about to come knocking and she's going to be forced to leave her home to keep her family safe.
Kendrick is the Guardian of un-Collared shifters, as well as a father to three shifter cubs, and even though he knows he should stay away from Addie there's just something about her that won't allow him to let her go.
And try as he might to keep a little distance between them there's no denying the mating frenzy once you catch it. So there are a few things that I really enjoyed about this book Addie being one of them. She's strong, not afraid to stand up for herself and others, and is just an all around compassionate person.
And Kendrick, though not my favorite hero ever, did manage to grow on me throughout the book. The romance was pretty decent but I did have some issue with it that I'll get to in a minute, and the overall threat was definitely enough to keep me interested.
Unfortunately, there were quite a few things that I didn't enjoy about this one also. Addie making the first move totally ruined some of the romance for me I want a hero that's not afraid to take what he wants and Addie having to make the first move and Kendrick constantly trying to keep his distance definitely left me a little disappointed. Once Kendrick stopped pussyfooting around things definitely took a turn for the better but it still wasn't enough to make me love it.
And the dreaded other woman drama Now don't get me wrong, I know romance isn't all sunshine and roses but this just went a little too far in my opinion. Jaycee is a member of Kendricks clan that's in love with him and even though her feelings aren't reciprocated I hate that Kendrick didn't put her in her place. And the fact that Addie had to put up with all her bullshit and stand up to her on her own? That was not okay with me! So, like I said, there are some things I enjoyed and some that I didn't but overall this was a decent read.
If you're a fan of PNR and my personal hang ups don't bother you, I think you'd enjoy this one Unfortunately in the end I just wasn't able to love it. Nov 16, Ami rated it liked it Shelves: He first appeared in the novella, Bear Attraction , when Rebecca and Walker attacked their hiding place while looking for a missing woman.
After that, Kendrick has been on the run with his cubs and adopted teenage boy. It started to get a little crowded with a lot of players! I enjoyed this but not as much as I did the previous three novels. Aside from the numerous secondary characters that I thought stole scenes from Kendrick and Addison, I thought the romance was rather undeveloped. Maybe because I also thought that, personality wise, neither Kendrick nor Addison stood out among the rest of the characters.
Yes, Kendrick was a rare white tiger, but that was all he was to me. Same as Addison, just another nice addition for the heroines in this series. To be honest, I was more intrigued with the secondary characters, namely Zander the polar bear healer and Ben the goblin. I thought they were more interesting compared to Kendrick. Heck, even the plot about Tiger the hero from book 5, Tiger Magic and his pregnant wife was more interesting.
In conclusion, it was a good addition and I liked it. No high rating is required for any ARC received. I enjoy the assortment of shifters, the world building is remarkable, and the character dynamics are great. Ashley knows how to write a great paranormal romance and she keeps things new and fresh with each installment.
It can be read as a stand a lone, but I feel you will get more enjoyment if you read the novels in order. Kendrick has popped up briefly before. The author does a suburb job connecting you to the characters.

We leave the Shiftertowns and move out into the open wide world, where their is tension and danger. The danger is not from humans or the Fae, but from other shifters.

This series has something for everyone to enjoy. We get a vast array of shifters, great world building, fast-paced, action-paced and romance.
All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own. Mar 27, Sandy S rated it really liked it. Release Date April 5, A woman is lured into the shadows of a dangerous manhunt WHITE TIGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty although I recommend reading the series in order for cohesion and backstory, as well as familiarity with the other characters.
Thousands of years in the past, the Fae created the shifters-a cross between beast and man-and in the ensuing time the Fae lost control and power over the creatures they had created. Approximately twenty years ago shifters were exposed to the human population.
Out of fear, discrimination and specieism, the shifters were collared in the belief that it would control aggression, then they were forced into segregated communities known as Shiftertowns. There are several Shiftertowns located throughout America where shifters live in a relative but strained peace amongst their own kind.
What ensues is an attack against Kendrick that finds Addison Price protecting what our hero loves most-his cubs. Addison is human; a waitress whose own love life is mired in betrayal and heartbreak but a woman who is determined to leave her old life behind. When Kendrick is attacked, Addison finds herself protecting his cubs, and promising she will be there for them in the future. What ensues is a building relationship between Addison and Kendrick, and the timely return of the shifters who owe Kendrick their lives.
WHITE TIGER is a story about betrayal; about a leader who believes he has failed his pack and clan; and a story where friends turn to enemies when there is no leader left to follow. Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many of the characters previously introduced in earlier story lines such as the former alpha Dylan whose hold on many of the shifters is quite strong and deep. An eclectic mixture of uncollared shifters who thrown their allegiance to a White Tiger who promised them a future without bars.
The premise is entertaining and intriguing; the characters are charismatic; the romance is a slow build for two people from different worlds. Jennifer Ashley continues to write the story lines we enjoy!

Oh my goodness! What drew me to this book was the synopsis! I loved the idea of this lonely waitress Addison just working and trying to figure out her life, when one evening a tall man with white and black striped hair walks into her diner with three young children. After several nights of seeing them, interacting with them and wanting to know more, all hell breaks loose and Addison finds herself caught up in a Shifter dispute and tasked with guarding three boys…who turn out to be shifters too!
I found myself easily relating to Addison. She is a strong woman and fiercely protective of those she calls her own.
