Works great by Stefanos Gatdoulos, United States, April 28, The tools and functions in this app are par excellent. However, we can only practice speed reading on public domain books. How about speed reading our own documents and digital books? Thank you! As a bonus you're improving your reading speed while reading some of the greatest books, including Sherlock Holmes, Mark Twain, Dickens, Tolstoy, and on and on.
Thank you. Maravilhosa atual by copario, Italy, April 16, Posso memorizar todos os meus Documentos. This tool is very good, it helps to read systematically. Thank you very much! I Love It by Pentatonic13, United States, April 6, It's great, works good just wish I could view the books I downloadd directly from ibooks being I don't have a windows or a Mac its pretty much impossible because I haven't found any book reader that can which is frustrating but I guess that's probably apple's crime there.
A ferramenta de speed reading parece realmente ajudar a aprimorar a leitura. Get this one. The app is not a "hog" either. I rarely give 5 stars on my first review because I'm usually an early adopter and so there's usually areas that need to improved. For this app, it would be nice to have some control of the starting point of a read- especially if I want to change reading speeds "midstream".
Comparison of e-book formats
Fantastic, want to use it for everything I read. Highly recommended for anybody for whom reading is a part of their job. Would love to make notes by Mitochon, Australia, March 28, Really like the continuing support.
App itself is a great idea an great execution. Would love to make notes that can be exported. PDF potentially? If this was on there it would definitely get 5 stars in my review!!! Amazing by jane vamp, United States, March 23, I really love this app. It also allows you to download ePub books from some online sites.
It's just been freezing on me lately. The way I use it is by practicing from time to time with the speed reading, testing every once in a while, and reading normally when I just need a rest. What I've found is that after using the speed reading modes for some practice, even my leisurely reading is more efficient. Using the app trained me to automatically scan for the most important words — I was skeptical before but now I'm a true convert.
And there are a lot of other ways to learn to speed read, but I've never used, or even seen, anything as convenient as this. I now save all classics I want to read for this app instead of site. Oh, right, it also allows amazing customization of colors and all the speed reading tool.
Honestly, it blows site out of the water. I wish I knew how to read modern ebooks on it, but regardless, I'm very happy. It works very well with ePub format.
Some books I use for speed reading and some books like travel books I use for for finding information.
The features are excellent for both types of reading. It is an excellent product that I have used for at least a year. Great App! I do wish you could download newer books or subscribe to magazine or news publications. Bella e utile by VignaGuid, Italy, March 10, Fa quello che promette e ha un grande catalogo di libri scaricabili Very Good by Sara-n-dippidy, United States, March 9, Have tried other readers and I think this is my favorite one.
Since I downloaded this app, I never open any of my other reading apps. It is the most customizable ereader, even aside from the guided reading function.
There is nothing unnecessary, and every time I find myself wishing that I could tweak something, it's always possible. This app was clearly designed by someone who reads a lot of ebooks. I love it when an app developer knows how to focus on what's important.
An amazing application by isaacrose, United States, March 5, I think quick reader should be able to download paper back books, and old classics from various artist, , it would be great if it had flip board option on it, not sure how it work, but its like merging too apps , and finally , make it a social network program, people should be able to share books they read and talk about it.
Need search, bookmark and percentage display by gyeung, United States, February 25, Great ebook reader. It would be nice to have search and bookmark function. Display of percentage read in the center panel instead of the slider, because every time I touch it, it shifts position. If it has these, it would be a great replacement for Stanza Pessima! It's made reading more enjoyable, faster and simpler. This app basically changed my life. Great personal improvement tool.
Awesome by mcroll79, United States, February 14, I'm up to wpm with full comprehension. I love how I can speed read my own books.
However, I wish that I could import books from ibooks to read. But I can't have it all I guess. Thanks for the app! Great app by Subtlyvalerie, United States, February 14, Great app, really helps you focus on reading quickly. I wish it had a feature to black out all the text except the sentence you're reading.
Lots of features and settings. Worth the price. Help you pay attention too. Great reader that is truly useful by optimistake, Japan, February 13, I've been using this for half a year and am convinced that it enhanced my reading skills.
So close to 5 stars! It helps me read much faster. Being able to adjust the Calibre timeout would rock as well. I started learning to speed read with Acceleread App which is also an excellent app. However being an extremely poor reader, while Acceleread helped me improve both my speed and comprehension with its scientific approach to speed reading over a three month period, the Quick Reader App is helping me to better transition from the App to being able to read traditional hard copies of text books with the same speed and comprehension.
Both apps are awesome. I have gone from vocalizing wpm to reading wpm and still tapping the right edge of the screen to speed up the reading rate. In closing, both apps are awesome. But, you can't find a better selection of reading material to read than that that is available on QuickReader. Awesome App. Thank You. Awesome App by Nlbhoy, United Kingdom, January 28, This is a great little app that has helped me double my reading speed in the last few weeks.
Only negative would be the lack of copying text and highlighting of text.
Great by Momehemian, United States, January 25, I wish there was an option to import other ebooks, from site and such a really big pain to copy text them import it using a text board.
I am only rating this not a five so maybe someone will look at my suggestion. But I love this app!! My absolute favorite. It helps me finish my reading in a specific time period. Helping me get through mountains of reading quickly. Easy to use and fun for those of us with too many books on our list to read! Great app by Kagechin, Singapore, January 17, This app have good integration with calibre. Easy to use. But could have some form of folder management to organize the books.
It's very easy to use and is reliable. I would suggest an easy way to load books from my iBooks library as a future improvement. Keep scratching and sniffing Excelente!
Vale muito a pena! Excellent App by Guifar, United States, January 12, I've been reading word by word all my life and was skeptic but curious. I tried it, and it did help me read several words at a time, it's amazing how faster you can read this way.
Credit should be given to the developers because this way of reading is bound to become a standard feature in all ebook reading programs. I read really really slow. I did the test and it clocked me at That's because I have a bad habit to read and reread. This app really helps me avoid that, helps me read in groups of words, and improves my speed. I'm reading at a modest now, which isn't really something to brag about compared to the other reviews but I'm improving and honest about it.
I look to challenge myself on every now book I read. I'm still on the first one but results look promising. Muy Recomendable. Takes some getting used to… by Vbits, Mexico, January 2, …but is spot on in helping to change bad reading habits improving one's ability to read in chunks. Love being able to save my own epubs into it or simply downloading from the vast online ebook repositories.
I've been so frustrated as I enjoy reading, and there are so many books I want to read, but I'm so terribly slow!!! App is very impressive because it gives you so many options — colors, font size, means of highlighting words, grouping of words, margins, and of course speed — so you can customize it to fit your particular reading needs.
In only three days I've gone from to over wpm. Love it by BlackAce34, Canada, December 29, Great app improving reading speed and enjoying your ebooks. I especially enjoy seeing how long it will take to read a book at a certain wpm; it's like having a movie "run time" but for your books.
Fantastic job! Has opened up a whole new world of reading and skill development. Good app but has an annoying author naming bug by Dissapointed User , United Kingdom, December 26, I use Calibre and import books into Quickreader via iTunes and no matter which order I have Firstname or Secondname in within Calibre, some books are entered into Quickreader under Firstname rather than Secondname, this resulting in a single author having more than one catalogue.
Also needs to better know where chapters start and end because it currently and commonly flows one direct into the next without space between.
Nonetheless, this is a very good app. The best by dualcosmos, South Korea, December 25, I've tried a lot of reader apps, and this is absolutely the best. At last, I can control every detail of the display.
Almost Perfect! Love this app! It's my 'go to' app for waiting in line. What could be better? Great by Noisha26, Australia, December 21, Learning to speed read is easy with this app , wish it were compatible with all ebooks! Good ap by Peregrin J, United States, December 15, I use it mainly as an ereader app for Gutenberg books, and it's great for that.
Speed reading training seems great too, but I don't use it too much. It works well and does not crash.
And it handles several different text formats. Love it. Definitely worth the money. Recomendable by Gfyr9, Mexico, December 7, Muy buena, ampliamente recomendable. Good by Raz, United Kingdom, December 7, Great app, really been enjoying improving my reading. Highly worth it if you are a slow reader like me. Great way to keep my reading skills sharp! Just don't succeed to transfer from my calibre library..
Very well made.
All the features are great. Excellent speed reading app. La consiglio a chiunque ami la lettura Well done, elegant app by Lundy, United States, November 21, One of the marks of a great app is simplicity within comprehensiveness. You will be able to use this app within a few minutes and be able to start training shortly thereafter. The ability to download public domain books easily is wonderful.
Being able to paste text into the app allows you to use the interface to read work materials is great. Well worth it! Speed reading app! It is pushing my reading speeds higher and higher in a very engaging and fun way. If you want to read faster you have to push yourself. If you're ready to do that then this is the program to get. I recommend it, is a very very good investment. Well done. Super great app!
Now to keep practicing! I like being able to copy any article from the iPad, and buzz through it with hardly the reading energy and concentration it would take without the use of the App. Top 3 on the favorites list.
TRY IT!!! Excelente by Bubblypink! G, United Kingdom, November 12, Great speed reading training app. If it allowed to copy text, it would be perfect. Incredibly unique and well done app. The downside is that it does the speed reading thing so well that it seems to lack or make difficult other more basic features of an e-reader.
I could not figure out how to search within text, for instance, or copy text to paste to another app.
I find myself having to switch back and forth between iBooks and this app for the simple stuff. That being said, the speed reading features are incredibly useful and I am very happy with this reader.
E-xcellent by soaresjp, United States, November 8, Great to have quick access to so many amazing works of literature. But man is a magician, and his whole magic is in this, that he does say Victoria, and lo!

No, take your books of mere poetry and prose; let me read a time table, with tears of pride. Take your Byron, who commemorates the defeats of man; give me Bradshaw, who commemorates his victories. Give me Bradshaw, I say! You say contemptuously that when one has left Sloane Square one must come to Victoria.
I say that one might do a thousand things instead, and that whenever I really come there I have the sense of hairbreadth escape. It is to me the cry of a herald announcing conquest. We know that the New Jerusalem will only be like Victoria.
Yes, the poet will be discontented even in the streets of heaven. The poet is always in revolt. You might as well say that it is poetical to be sea-sick. Being sick is a revolt. Revolt in the abstract is—revolting. Yes, the most poetical thing, more poetical than the flowers, more poetical than the stars—the most poetical thing in the world is not being sick. Do you mean what you say now? Now, sometimes a man like your brother really finds a thing he does mean.
It may be only a half-truth, quarter-truth, tenth-truth; but then he says more than he means—from sheer force of meaning it. She was looking at him from under level brows; her face was grave and open, and there had fallen upon it the shadow of that unreasoning responsibility which is at the bottom of the most frivolous woman, the maternal watch which is as old as the world.
Syme broke into a great laugh, that seemed too large for his slight and somewhat dandified figure.
Syme strolled with her to a seat in the corner of the garden, and continued to pour out his opinions. For he was a sincere man, and in spite of his superficial airs and graces, at root a humble one.
And it is always the humble man who talks too much; the proud man watches himself too closely. He defended respectability with violence and exaggeration. He grew passionate in his praise of tidiness and propriety. All the time there was a smell of lilac all round him.
Once he heard very faintly in some distant street a barrel-organ begin to play, and it seemed to him that his heroic words were moving to a tiny tune from under or beyond the world. To his astonishment, he discovered the whole garden empty. Everyone had gone long ago, and he went himself with a rather hurried apology.
He left with a sense of champagne in his head, which he could not afterwards explain. In the wild events which were to follow this girl had no part at all; he never saw her again until all his tale was over. And yet, in some indescribable way, she kept recurring like a motive in music through all his mad adventures afterwards, and the glory of her strange hair ran like a red thread through those dark and ill-drawn tapestries of the night. For what followed was so improbable, that it might well have been a dream.
When Syme went out into the starlit street, he found it for the moment empty. Then he realised in some odd way that the silence was rather a living silence than a dead one.
Directly outside the door stood a street lamp, whose gleam gilded the leaves of the tree that bent out over the fence behind him. About a foot from the lamp-post stood a figure almost as rigid and motionless as the lamp-post itself. The tall hat and long frock coat were black; the face, in an abrupt shadow, was almost as dark.
Only a fringe of fiery hair against the light, and also something aggressive in the attitude, proclaimed that it was the poet Gregory. He had something of the look of a masked bravo waiting sword in hand for his foe. Gregory struck out with his stick at the lamp-post, and then at the tree.
There is your precious order, that lean, iron lamp, ugly and barren; and there is anarchy, rich, living, reproducing itself—there is anarchy, splendid in green and gold.
I wonder when you would ever see the lamp by the light of the tree. The silence fell again, and Syme, though he understood nothing, listened instinctively for something serious. Gregory began in a smooth voice and with a rather bewildering smile. You did something to me that no man born of woman has ever succeeded in doing before. The captain of a penny steamer if I remember correctly at Southend. You have irritated me. If I struck you dead I could not wipe it out.
There is only one way by which that insult can be erased, and that way I choose. I am going, at the possible sacrifice of my life and honour, to prove to you that you were wrong in what you said. You do not think that in a deeper, a more deadly sense, I am serious.
Are these damned Chinese lanterns serious? Is the whole caboodle serious? Will you swear that! You say that a poet is always an anarchist. I disagree; but I hope at least that he is always a sportsman.
Permit me, here and now, to swear as a Christian, and promise as a good comrade and a fellow-artist, that I will not report anything of this, whatever it is, to the police. And now, in the name of Colney Hatch, what is it? He gave two long whistles, and a hansom came rattling down the road. The two got into it in silence.
Gregory gave through the trap the address of an obscure public-house on the Chiswick bank of the river. The cab whisked itself away again, and in it these two fantastics quitted their fantastic town. Chesterton The suburb of Saffron Park lay on the sunset side of London, as red and ragged as a cloud of sunset. In fact, Mr. Lucian Gregory, the anarchic poet, connected the two events. Gregory resumed in high oratorical good humour.
With surprise, but with a curious pleasure, he found Rosamond Gregory still in his company.Yes [h 11]. We know that the New Jerusalem will only be like Victoria.
Amazing app, still using it, I'll have doubled my reading speed again in about a month I reckon. If you are using the bit version of calibre try switching to the bit version.
I cannot send emails using calibre? What a pleasure to find something so effective and well thought out. That young man with the long, auburn hair and the impudent face—that young man was not really a poet; but surely he was a poem.
